In June 2024 I was helping a friend repair his roof and suffered a fall. Knocked unconscious by the fall, I was rushed to Nanaimo General Hospital by ground ambulance. I was later flown to Victoria General Hospital for emergency surgery to correct a brain bleed. Thanks to lifesaving care being provided quickly, I’m happy to report I’ve made a full recovery. Today, August 22, I had an allergic reaction when eating pistachios. The ambulance came very quickly, and I was treated really well by the paramedics. After that I knew that everything would be okay. Thank you to Becca and her team for helping me get to the hospital. 😁

On April 27, I was in a car accident when my Uber driver ran a stop sign, leading to an SUV T-boning us. Paramedic Mike, you held my hand all the way to the trauma bay at Vancouver General Hospital. I’ll forever be grateful for your calm presence on one of the worst days of my life. As a nurse, it was hard to be on the receiving end of care, but you made it a bit more bearable. Thank you!

I would just love to say a huge thank you to the paramedics who came out last Sunday, September 8 when our son had a seizure. It was terrifying for both me and his dad, but the paramedics and first responders kept him calm while caring for him. They even checked on me and my husband to ensure we were okay. They were fantastic and got him to BC Children’s Hospital where he was taken care of. Thank you so much.

Alicia was excellent in calming my wife who is a registered nurse but was panicking as she knew what was happening. They attended my residence, helped me out, and transported me to hospital. They are true heroes.

I just wanted to send a sincere thanks to the paramedics who came to help me yesterday (July 18) when I was having a pretty intense cardiac arrhythmia episode. Gord, Dan, and Adam were so kind, reassuring, and really took the time to listen to me during a time when I was both in physical distress, and highly embarrassed (episode happened while at work). You were all amazing, thank you.

On April 13 in Chilliwack, I had respiratory failure. I was sure I was going to die that night. I had just driven home from my job up North. I was so lucky to have such wonderful paramedics respond. The young man who helped me was so patient and kind and walked me through every step. Thank you so much. I am so grateful to you for saving my life. Forever grateful.

On March 27, I was hit by a car as a pedestrian. I was attended to by three paramedics: Taryn, Justin, and another wonderful woman whose name I can’t remember. They were so chill, comforting, and competent! It was pretty much the best experience of the whole incident. Please thank them for me and let them know they made a big, positive impact.

My husband and I wanted to thank everyone involved on the night of December 5th on the west side of Vancouver. Rescue teams were called to help deliver our baby boy in our car. It was a very scary experience and we are beyond grateful for the fast acting paramedics who helped catch our baby just in time. You all kept us both safe, you were kind and gentle and we will be forever thankful to you.
